A Royal Oak man, 33, was arrested on outstanding felony warrants including illegal use of credit cards.

The man has had numerous contacts with local police.

Royal Oak police Lt. Albert Carter said officers recognized him when they saw him walking near 12 Mile and Crooks roads on Nov. 3.

“He had two warrants for violating probation for retail fraud,” Carter said. “He also had a felony warrant for three counts of illegal use or possession of a financial transaction device after he failed to show up in court.”

The suspect was turned over to the Oakland County Sheriff’s department.

A Detroit motorist, 27, and a female passenger, 24, were arrested Nov. 3 following a traffic stop.

Police said they stopped the man for speeding in a Chevrolet Equinox about 12:10 a.m. near North Main Street and Normandy.

The man has never gotten a driver’s license, police said, and only had a temporary driver’s permit.

He admitted he had a handgun under the driver’s seat, but had no license to carry the gun, and was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon.

The woman in the car gave police a false name before they identified her.

She had 16 warrants out for her arrest on charges ranging from probation violation to shoplifting and domestic violence.
