More than $10,000 in equipment stolen from inspector’s vehicle

-

A private inspector was called to the Peking House restaurant to look at fire damage and later discovered someone stole expensive equipment from his car.

The man parked his car at South Washington and Second Street for about two hours Nov. 5. When he returned to his vehicle he found someone had stolen an infrared camera and a moisture meter, worth a total of more than $10,000.

Police said they found no signs of forced entry and the inspector may have left his car unlocked.
