Haven of Hope Community Outreach, Inc., a Sterling Heights organization that provides food, clothing and support for those in need, received a $10,000 donation from Southfield’s Integrity Insurance, LLC on Oct. 22.

The donation will help the organization make urgent repairs and upgrades to its distribution site.

It will also provide supplies for the organization’s food program, including pandemic supplies, such as gloves, masks and hand sanitizer, as well as holiday essentials, such as bags, boxes and supplemental food and fixings for holiday meals.

Integrity Insurance, LLC got the money for the donation through applying for Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance’s Make More Happen Awards.

Agencies become eligible for the award by submitting an application demonstrating their commitment to a specific nonprofit, along with a photo of a project they have worked on with the organization.

After submitting an application on behalf of Haven of Hope, Integrity Insurance, LLC was awarded $5,000 for the nonprofit.

After awarding Integrity Insurance the money, Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance offered an Integrity Insurance agent, Rico Camerone, a chance to double the donation through social media support via the official Make More Happen microsite.

By having the story of the donation shared over 500 times over one week, Camerone and Integrity Insurance, LLC was able to raise an additional $5,000.

Integrity Insurance is just one of 34 independent agents nationwide that will be selected for Liberty Mutual’s and Safeco Insurance’s awards.

Up to $340,000 can be awarded for donation for the nonprofit an agency supports.
