Man stabbed by girlfriend, deputies report

-

A 44-year- old man was stabbed several times in the shoulder by his 27-year- old girlfriend at their residence in Pontiac, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office reported Tuesday. The man’s brother called police after the man ran to his mother’s home across the street on Candlelite Lane, deputies reported.

When police arrived, the man’s mother told deputies that her son and his girlfriend were living together, and they had argued.

The man’s girlfriend had stabbed him before, and she said she would stab him again, the mother said, according to deputies, and apparently did before the man became afraid and fled to his mother’s.

According to police, the man’s girlfriend fled the scene before they arrived. They searched for her but could not immediately find her.

While the man was initially uncooperative with Star EMS and paramedics, he eventually acknowledged it was his girlfriend who stabbed him and consented to treatment, the deputies reported.

He received aid and was transported to McLauren Oakland Hospital for additional treatment. This incident remains under investigation.
