A 20-year-old Commerce Township man was arrested after he triggered a CVS store’s alarm by trying to break into the glass drive-thru door with a pallet jack, the Oakland County Sheriff’s office reported Tuesday.

When a sheriff’s deputy arrived at the Commerce Township CVS, located on South Commerce Road, the man was spotted attempting to run from the scene from behind the building.

A brief foot chase ensued; and, when the deputy caught the man, he was taken to the Oakland County Jail, pending charges. The delivery door was damaged and the man’s backpack was found, containing wrenches and mechanic tools, police said.

The man’s mountain bike was also found at the store. This incident remains under investigation.
