Growing up, Jerry Millen of Walled Lake knew what it was like to wonder when and where his next meal was coming from.

That’s why Millen, owner of the Greenhouse of Walled Lake Dispensary, wanted to make sure no family goes hungry this Thanksgiving.

This week, he is donating more than 500 turkeys to community members in need and to Hospitality House of Commerce Township. Hospitality House is a food pantry feeding those in need in the Walled Lake, Wixom and surrounding Michigan communities.

Millen will also be adopting 10 local families, donating $1,000 to $10,000 to each, to help give them a memorable holiday in the midst of the pandemic.

“So many families are dealing with financial hardships due to the COVID-19 pandemic and other factors, and I want to assist them so they can have a meaningful Thanksgiving,” Millen said.

“I am proud that the Greenhouse of Walled Lake can step up and meet this challenge so our friends, neighbors and customers can enjoy the holiday.”

The Greenhouse of Walled Lake was Oakland County’s first fully licensed medical and recreational marijuana dispensary. For more information, visit greenhousemi.com or facebook.com/GreenhouseWalledLake.
