What’s new Strings, piano dominate DSO weekend concerts

Strings will be the thing for the Detroit Symphony Orchestra online this weekend, live from Orchestra Hall. “Cinematic Strings,” at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, features themes from films, TV shows and more, while at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, pianist Fabian Almazan is joined by a DSO string quartet and others to perform his composition “Alcanza.” Tickets for the latter are $9 via dso.org, or call 313-576-5111.
