Buddy’s Pizza of Troy presents $4,517 check to Community Housing Network

Buddy’s Pizza of Troy presented a check for $ 4,517 to Community Housing Network, a nonprofit that provides housing and resources to those in need in Macomb and Oakland counties. The donation was from the pizzeria’s opening- day earnings, Oct. 26, which Buddy’s named Community Housing Network as the beneficiar­y. The presentati­on took place Nov. 20 during Hunger & Homelessne­ss Awareness Week, according to a press release.

Rotary Club donates Thanksgivi­ng dinners to those in need

Area Rotary Club members from Birmingham, Lakes Area (Commerce/ Walled Lake/ Wixom/ Wolverine Lake), Sterling Heights, Troy and West Bloomfield are delivering fully- cooked Thanksgivi­ng dinners with all the trimmings to 230 designated families-in-need in the Oakland and Macomb county areas. Through a partnershi­p with Meijer and Kroger, volunteers will gather at the stores early on Thanksgivi­ng Day to pick up packaged meals and deliver them to designated area homes. COVID protocols will be followed. Rotary Club is accepting donations to offset the expense of meals, at rotaryteam­turkey.org.

Farmington Hills Firefighte­rs donate turkeys to families in need

Farmington Hills Firefighte­rs Associatio­n partnered with Meijer in Northville Township to donate turkeys to approximat­ely 140 designated Farmington and Farmington Hills families, according to a press release, www.fhgov.com.
