Men in stolen truck steal items from cars, lead police on chase

Clothing, cash, gift cards, and five cans of beer were stolen from three vehicles in an apartment parking lot shortly before midnight Nov. 27.

Police received calls about the two suspicious men from residents at the apartment building in the 2900 block of Woodward Avenue.

Officers arrived and chased the pair, who were traveling in a Dodge Ram with no license plate that was stolen earlier in Southfield.

Royal Oak police chased the suspect vehicle, which reached speeds of up to 90 mph on Woodward.

The chase was called off for safety reasons after officers reached the area of 10 Mile Road and Woodward.

Police said owners of the three vehicles had left their cars unlocked.
