Break-in, shots fired at apartment complex; suspects at-large
Farmington Hills police are seeking three suspects in connection with a home invasion that led to shots fired at the Diamond Forest Apartments late Monday night.
According to police, the ongoing investigation indicates three men broke into an apartment at the complex located on Halsted Road between Nine Mile Road and Grand River Avenue at approximately 11:30 p.m. Several firearms were reported stolen.
The suspects were confronted by the residents who fired several shots at them as they fled in a silver or gray SUV, possibly a newer Chevy Blazer or Traverse police said.
No injuries at the apartment complex were reported. Police said this was not a random act.
Police said the suspects are all black males, 2025 years old. One was described as light- skinned, 5 feet 11 inches to 6 feet tall, with a thin build, weighing approximately 120 pounds. He had a fade haircut with waves on top and was wearing black pants and three or four diamond/gold chains. One of the chains was shaped like a peanut and with the word “peanut” inside.
The second suspect is described as dark- skinned with shoulder- length dreadlocks, medium build and weighing approximately 180 pounds. He was wearing a black jacket and blue jeans.
The third suspect is described as dark- skinned with a medium build, wearing a gold chain.
