‘A VIRTUAL CHRISTMAS CAROL’

Stagecrafters Youth Theatre giving cyber spin to holiday classic

- — Submitted by Erin McKay

Most people know the story of “A Christmas Carol” with iconic characters like the grouchy Ebenezer Scrooge and the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future.

Members of Stagecrafters Youth Theatre in Royal Oak are performing this show virtually, so, despite COVID-19 restrictions, audience members can still get in the holiday spirit from the safety of their own homes.

“‘A Virtual Christmas Carol’ is told through a series of video and phone calls, which not only makes for a unique form of storytelling, but shows us all how we can stay connected during these difficult times apart,” said Director Theresa Williams.

The main cast includes: Naomi Alba as Charles Dickens, Rocco Morrow as Scrooge, Nate Sachs as Young Scrooge, Dave Palazzolo as Bob Cratchit, Noah McLean as Marley’s Ghost, Evan Gabrys as Fezziwig, Jack Roberts as Tiny Tim, Althea WeigelHubler as the Ghost of Christmas Past, Mandy Marsili as the Ghost of Christmas Present, Scott Roberts as Ghost of Christmas Future.

Tickets will be all donation based, and the show will take place on YouTube and Facebook beginning at 12:01 a.m. Friday, Dec. 11. Visit www.stagecrafters.org for more information and to get the link to the show.
