Rochester-based nonprofit The Rainbow Connection makes wishes come true for local children with life threatening medical conditions.

Every year, the kids are invited to the organization’s Wish Family Holiday Party. Joe Morelli, who owns Crispelli’s Restaurant with his brother Kenny and friends Mark Artinian and Glen Willson, has partnered with The Rainbow Connection to help host this party for more than 20 years.

Morelli wasn’t going to let the COVID-19 pandemic halt this family tradition. So, on Saturday, Dec. 5, he offered a drivethru experience at the pizzeria in Troy. Attendees received gifts, a meal, prepared by Crispelli’s, and gingerbread houses, chocolate milk and cookies from Guernsey Farms Dairy and Cookies by Design.

George Miller, the organization’s executive director, said, “These types of events and services are what makes The Rainbow Connection such a unique wish granting organization. We stay with these families throughout their medical treatments to support them in any way that we can.”
