Over 4K new cases reported on Saturday

Over 4,000 new cases were reported in Michigan on Saturday, according to the state’s website.

There were 4,486 new cases and 206 new deaths, totaling 430,780 cases and 10,662 deaths statewide.

These counts exclude probable cases and deaths linked to COVID-19 and include only confirmed cases and deaths. At least 176 of the 206 new confirmed deaths on Saturday were identified during a vital records review, which are conducted regularly by the state.

In the Detroit area on Saturday, Wayne County had the most new cases with 549 new cases, totaling 47,889, as well as 17 new deaths, making 1,594.

Oakland County was next with 425 new cases, making 48,179, as well as 12 new deaths, making 1,414.

Macomb County followed with 391 new cases, making 42,764. There were also 26 new deaths in the county on Saturday, for a total of 1,358.

The city of Detroit also had 156 new cases and 9 new deaths. This makes 23,096 cases and 1,635 deaths, total.

In mid- Michigan, Isabella County had 30 new cases and 1 death, for a total of 2,679 cases and 33 deaths.

Gratiot County had 3 new cases and 2 new deaths, totaling 1,905 cases and 47 deaths.

Clare County had 8 new cases and 1 new deaths, making a total of 892 cases and 28 deaths.
