A 15-year- old girl and two men were arrested after allegedly trying to rob a homeless man at gunpoint Monday night in Pontiac, but he had no money.

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called to the M-1 Grill at 50501 Woodward Ave. at 11.15 p.m. by the victim, age 53. He told deputies that two men and a girl had approached him on foot, and the girl asked if he had any money. The victim pulled out his wallet and one of the men grabbed it. The victim grabbed it back and the girl produced a handgun. The victim had no money, the sheriff’s office said, and the three fled on foot.

A deputy patrolling the area spotted the suspects as they were crossing the street at Saginaw and Pike. They were then taken into custody.

After being interviewed by detectives, the girl was turned over to her parent and one of the men was released. The other man was lodged at the Oakland County Jail. Criminal charges are pending.
