Canterbury Village and Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers host toy drive

Canterbury Village has partnered with Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers to collect new, unwrapped toys through Dec. 31, for The Bottomless Toy Chest, to benefit hospitaliz­ed children during the holidays. Donations can be placed in the Chevrolet Silverado, parked next to the 43foot Christmas tree in the shopping corridor at Canterbury Village, according to a press release. Oxford students host can drive to benefit FISH food pantry

Oxford High School Middle School students have created a community-wide can drive, with promotiona­l activities, Dec. 14-18, to benefit the FISH Food Pantry. To add some school spirit to the can drive, each school level will compete against one another to see who donates the most between them (high school level vs. middle school level vs. prek/elementary school level), according to a press release. Donation times are 3-7 p.m. Dec. 14-17. Three school buses will be used as collection points, with the tagline “CAN we fill a bus???” One bus will be parked in the Oxford High School north parking lot, one in the Oxford Middle School lot and one will be travel between the elementary schools throughout the week. Local nonprofit distribute­s gifts

Local nonprofit, Gifts for All God’s Children, is distributi­ng gifts to more than 2,500 children, this year. Several hundred gifts were placed on the altar at Faith Lutheran Church in Troy, Dec. 6, according to a press release. Twelve Oaks Mall hosts Community First and Buy Nearby campaigns

Twelve Oaks Mall has launched # CommunityF­irst, a new campaign to thank customers as well as the mall’s 2,000 plus retail workers. Twelve Oaks Mall is partnering with Feeding America and Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeaste­rn Michigan and Forgotten Harvest, with donations of up to $1,000 to charities on behalf of mall and tenant employees, according to a press release. The selected employees will be featured in community spotlights on Twelve Oaks Mall’s website at www. shoptwelve­oaks.com. Gardner-White of Novi donates space to Holiday Helpers gift-wrapping service

Gardner- White Furniture donated space to Holiday Helpers 2 You gift-wrapping and holiday concierge, so the business would have a place to operate. The service is offering gift wrapping, Dec. 12-13 and Dec. 18-24 at GardnerWhi­te, 43825 Oak Drive, Novi. Prices start at $5 and include the wrap, bow, and tag. Additional accessorie­s and boxes can also be purchased. To pay it forward, Holiday Helpers will offer compliment­ary giftwrappi­ng services, noon-2 p.m. Dec. 21-22, for essential workers in the medical field, postal service, firefighte­rs, and police officers. Gifts are wrapped on a first- come first serve basis with a limit of four per essential worker.
