Lions Club expects record year for ringers
Royal Oak Lions Club member Eric Boreczky rings the bell to collect donations for the Salvation Army at the Sam’s Club in neighboring Madison Heights. With less than a week to go, the Royal Oak Lions Club expects to raise over $15,000 for the Salvation Army this holiday season. That’s the most the Royal Oak Lions Club has ever raised in its more than 50 years of bell ringing. The Lions Club effort will finish up Christmas Eve as they seek collections at Sam’s Club in Madison Heights, Holiday Market in Royal Oak, and the Kroger store on Long Lake Road in Troy where there will be caroling.
