FBI will not share info about train shooting

-

WASHINGTON » At the start of the Tuesday morning commute, an FBI agent was involved in a shooting aboard a Metro Red Line Train in Maryland.

In the 48 hours since, the agency has refused to say who fired a weapon, declined to give the medical condition of the person wounded and provided no details on what led to the shooting or released the name of the agent involved after several inquiries from The Washington Post.

The FBI would not say whether the person who was sent to the hospital was still alive.

The blackout comes as police departments are under pressure to be more transparent about shootings involving their officers.
