Boseman stars in his last role in ‘Ma Rainey’ on Netflix
The pairing of Viola Davis and the late Chadwick Boseman in a “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” — which debuts Friday, Dec. 18, on Netflix — would be a big deal on its own merits. The fact that the story of a hot-tempered blues singer butting heads with an ambitious trumpeter is Boseman’s last on-screen performance makes it that much more noteworthy.
