Met streams ‘Hansel and Gretel’ and more over holidays
The Metropolitan Opera will not take the holiday weekend off — but is taking it into account with streaming performances. A 2008 rendition of the familyfriendly Humperdinck’s “Hansel and Gretel” runs on Christmas day, Dec. 25, followed by Lehar’s “The Merry Widow” from 2015 on Saturday, Dec. 26, and Verdi’s classic “Falstaff,” from 2013, on Sunday, Dec. 27. All 7:30 p.m. and free via metopera.org.
