Canterbury Village hosting socially distanced Mitten Drop tonight

Canterbury Village will be holding a socially distanced New Year’s Eve Michigan Mitten Drop today.

The family-friendly event kicks off at 4 p.m. on the 21acre site. The evening will include live entertainm­ent, kids karaoke, a kids trivia competitio­n, a chance to meet friendly characters, a fire show and horse drawn carriage rides. Food trucks, hot chocolate and adult beverages will also be available.

Guests can also take part in a special appearance by the Ghostbuste­rs Detroit.

A six-foot-tall Michigan Mitten will drop 80-feet at 6:30 p.m with the event wrapping up at 7 p.m. Extra sanitizati­on and safety measures have been installed on the village grounds and masks are required for attendance.

Tickets are $5 per person and free for children under two, military service members and veterans. Tickets must be purchased in advance and can be found at michiganmi­ttendrop.com.
