Birmingham extends free parking in structures
The city of Birmingham is extending free, contactless parking in its five municipal garages through March 31. For metered parking areas, the Birmingham Shopping District is offering free designated “5-Minute Buy and Fly” parking spaces throughout downtown for curbside pickups and quick trips to retailers and restaurants for carryout items. The community can also take advantage of contactless metered parking with the ParkMobile parking application. Drivers may register for free at www. parkmobile.com and use a mobile app, the Internet, QR code, or call toll free at 800-280- 4146 to pay for parking. Hand sanitizing stations are available throughout the city’s parking structures, as well as throughout the downtown area and in city parks. Learn more at www. bhamgov.org/parking.
