Man turns gun on himself after renting it at a shooting range

A 34-year-old Rochester man rented a gun at Accurate Firearms Gun Range, located at 6559 Dixie Highway in Independence Township; but, instead of firing the weapon into the range, he apparently turned the gun on himself, according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office. Paramedics from Independence Township Fire Department tried to save the man on scene and transported him to McLaren Oakland Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Detectives and the Oakland County Medical Examiner’s Office are still investigating the incident, and an autopsy is scheduled.
