Woman missing since Dec. 31 found dead in Montcalm County

CRYSTAL TOWNSHIP» A woman missing since attending a family gathering on New Year’s Eve was found dead Tuesday in a marshy area in western Michigan, police said.

The body of Jenna Evans, 34, was discovered near Loon Lake in Montcalm County’s Crystal Township, police said.

Evans was last seen leaving her mother’s home in Stanton on New Year’s Eve. Police had asked the public for any tips.

Police said the cause of Evans’ death remain under investigation.
