Waterford Township has begun accepting applications for medical marijuana facilities. The clerk’s office opened the application process on Monday, Jan. 4. The application is available online for public viewing, as well the accompanying ordinances for the businesses. Contact information for the township’s planning and zoning division has been posted for those who wish to inquire about specific properties eligibility for the facilities. The fee is $80 per parcel. A total of 10 licenses will be available for potential applicants. The zoning and licensing ordinances, approved in November, call for only two of each type of state licensed medical marijuana facility: Growers, processors, provisioning centers, safety compliance businesses and secure transporters.
