A second suspect has been charged in connection with the fatal South Lyon shooting that left 17-year-old Dylan Stamper dead, and his father in critical condition.

Anthony Marshall Porter, 27, of Ann Arbor, was arraigned in 52-1 District Court in Novi on six felony charges of armed robbery and possessing a firearm while in commission of a felony. If convicted, he’s facing up to life in prison. During arraignment, Por- ter entered a plea of not guilty and denied any history of substance abuse treatment having admitted to using marijuana several times per week.

He’s currently being lodged at the Oakland County Jail after being arrested and taken into custody on Jan. 9, according to jail records. His bond was denied due to the “serious nature” of the charges with his next court date, a probable cause conference, scheduled for 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 20.

The shooting, which took place Dec. 30 inside the family’s home, also left Dylan’s father, Kevin Stamper, 43, in critical condition at an area hospital. Authorities had been seeking tips for additional suspects. Stamper’s funeral was held on Wednesday in downtown South Lyon.

Last week, Fadi Jesus Zeineh, 19-year-old Ann Arbor man, was charged with murdering Stamper. He was formally charged with first-degree felony murder, a charge that, if convicted, carries a mandatory life sentence without parole.

On Wednesday, Zeineh appeared in 52-1 District Court for his probable cause hearing. His examination has been scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 20, according to court records. Two other suspects have also taken into custody, but at this time, there is not enough evidence to charge them in connection with the shooting. According to Chris Sovik, South Lyon police chief, there is evidence suggesting that Zeineh knew Dylan Stamper and that the shooting was “not random.”

In court on Jan. 4 Sgt. Sam Marzban, lead Oakland County Sheriff’s Office detective on the case, said evidence suggests that Zeineh went to the Stamper home to buy marijuana from Dylan before turning a gun on him.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help pay for funeral expenses, with nearly $13,000 pledged.
