The South Lyon father who was shot late last month when his son was killed has died.

Kevin Stamper, 43, hospitalized since the Dec. 30 shooting in the 300 block of Liberty Street in South Lyon, was pronounced dead Jan. 26.

His son, Dylan, 17, died at the scene.

The Oakland County Medical Examiner’s Office said Kevin Stamper’s death has been ruled a homicide, and its cause was multiple gunshot wounds with complications.

Fadi Jesus Zeineh, 19, and Anthony Marshall Porter, 27, face charges in connection with the incident. Police said earlier that evidence suggests the shootings happened during what was supposed to be a marijuana purchase from Dylan.

Court records have not been amended in regard to Kevin Stamper’s death as of Jan. 28. Zeineh is charged with 10 felonies, including felony murder for Dylan Stamper’s death, assault with intent to murder for Kevin Stamper’s injuries, armed robbery and firearms offenses. Porter is charged with six felonies for armed robbery and firearms offenses.

According to a GoFundMe page set up to raise money for funeral expenses, Kevin Stamper died after being taken off life support. It also states: “Everyone who knew Kevin loved him you couldn’t not love the big guy. We need to lay Kevin to rest by his son and give him the funeral he deserves. Please share help or send prayers. This has been hell on earth since Dec 30th and still just a fog.”
