Credit union marks 70 years with 70 random acts of kindness
Oakland County based credit union Cornerstone Community Financial is marking its 70th anniversary by performing 70 random acts of kindness throughout 2021.
The team kicked off the year with hundreds of dollars in wish list donations to the Michigan Humane Society in Rochester Hills and Tigerlily Cat Rescue in Sterling Heights and providing on-the-go snacks to Troy police officers on patrol.
A total of approximately $10,000 in gifts and donations will be distributed to local nonprofits, residents in need, first responder units and schools throughout the year.
“Growing and maintaining a successful community-based business over seven decades requires the trust, support and dedication of many people in many places,” said Heidi Kassab, Cornerstone Community Financial’s president and CEO.
“We know how lucky we are to be able to serve our members and support the communities in which we do business, and we want to do our small part to show our appreciation for their patronage and backing over the years as we celebrate this achievement, 70 years in the making.”
While many of the year-long 70 acts of kindness have already been planned, Cornerstone Community Financial also welcomes members of the community to nominate an organization in need of support. For those interested, email marketing@ CCFinancial.com.
