Farmington girls nip North Farmington

A recap of high school sporting events reported to The Oakland Press on Monday and Tuesday night:

GIRLS BASKETBALL

• FARMINGTON 57, NORTH FARMINGTON 55

The Farmington girls basketball team edged North Farmington on Tuesday night in OAA action, 5755.

Kenedi Jones knocked down a 3-pointer for Farmington to tie the game late and Kayla Ghafari had the game-winning free throws.

Autumn Bartlett led the Falcons with 16 points while Ghafari finished with 15.

Heaven Rogers led the Raiders with 17 points and eight rebounds while Sela Lefler had 15 points.

•TROY ATHENS 54, ROCHESTER 34

The Troy Athens girls basketball team earned a 54-34 win over Rochester on Tuesday night.

Gillian Ciak had 13 points, eight steals and six rebounds to lead the Red Hawks. Clara Shoales added 12 points, eight rebounds and five steals.

• LUTHERAN NORTHWEST 47, NOTRE DAME PREP 9

The Rochester Hills Lutheran Northwest girls basketball team grabbed another win on Tuesday, besting Notre Dame Prep 47-9.

Jena Maniaci led the Crusaders with 12 points while Sabrina Gottschalk had 11.

• EVEREST COLLEGIATE 53, GENESEE CHRISTIAN 52

Clarkston Everest Collegiate improved to 3-0 on the season with a 53-52 win over Genesee Christian on Tuesday.

Celeste James had 21 points to lead the Mountainee­rs, while Addy Bautel scored 13.

• ROYAL OAK 48, FARMINGTON 40

Royal Oak grinded out a hard-fought 48-40 win over Farmington on Monday night.

Sarah Soraghan scored 21 points to lead the Ravens in the win while Lexi Romesburg had seven.

Valadian Pallett and Sophia Holdwick each scored 11 points to lead the Falcons.

• TROY 67, AVONDALE 28

The Troy girls basketball team had 10 players get in the scoring book Monday night as part of a 67-28 win over Auburn Hills Avondale.

Kendal Zeiter had 20 points to lead the Colts while Avery Allen had 10.

• GROVES 40, BERKLEY 32

Birmingham Groves earned a 40-32 win over Berkley on Monday night in OAA action.

Ryleigh Sanom had 17 points to lead the Bears while Ashley Loon scored

10.

BOYS BASKETBALL

• OAK PARK 54, WEST BLOOMFIELD 53

A basket by West Bloomfield’s Rishard Weaver was ruled to have occurred after the buzzer on Tuesday night, giving Oak Park a 5453 win over the Lakers.

Weaver finished with seven points for West Bloomfield, while Ryan Hurst had 25.

• SOUTH LYON 58, MILFORD 48

In Lakes Valley Conference action, South Lyon came away with a win over Milford on Tuesday.

Lucas Theriault had 14 points to lead the Mavericks, while Sam Lewis scored 12.

• STONEY CREEK 61, CARDINAL MOONEY 53

The Stoney Creek boys basketball team had an impromptu game with Cardinal Mooney on Tuesday and earned a 61-53 victory.

Trevor Smith scored 24 points for the Cougars, while Alex Reiter had 15.

• EDISON 61, DETROIT CATHOLIC CENTRAL 51

Detroit Catholic Central came up short on Tuesday night, falling to Detroit Edison 61-51.

Chas Lewless had 15 points to lead the Shamrocks.

• EVEREST COLLEGIATE 54, GENESEE CHRISTIAN 53

The Clarkston Everest Collegiate boys basketball team edged Genesee Christian on Tuesday, 54-53.

Michael McGrath had 23 points to lead the Mountainee­rs, while Joey Thibodeau scored 11.

• SOUTHFIELD CHRISTIAN 60, PLYMOUTH CHRISITAN 46

The Southfield Christian boys basketball team moved to 4-0 on the season Monday night with a win over Plymouth Christian.

Malcolm King had 15 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Eagles, while Verian Patrick had 14 points and six steals.
