Maddie Dolenga’s buzzerbeater advances Adams

Girls basketball
ADAMS 64, ROMEO 63 OT
Maddie Dolenga hit a pair of buzzer-beaters to lead Rochester Adams to a 64-63 OT win over Romeo in a Division 1 district opener on Monday.
Dolenga scored a gametying basket at the end of regulation and then hit the winner in overtime.
Dolenga finished with 17 points for Adams, while Lauren Petersmark had 19 points. Abbey Drahnak added 13 points and six steals.
Adams advances to face Lake Orion in Wednesday’s district semifinal at Romeo.
SEAHOLM 47, ROYAL OAK 35
The Birmingham Seaholm girls basketball team advanced in the Division 1 district tournament on Monday after beating Royal Oak 47-35.
Katie Sullivan had 14 points to lead the Maples, while Maggie Liebler had eight points and 12 rebounds. The Maples advance to Wednesday’s district semifinal to face Berkley at Royal Oak High School.
The Ravens were forced to use their junior varsity squad to play, as the varsity was in quarantine due to COVID-19 exposure. Maddie Hanes had 11 points to lead the Ravens, while Danica Schmitt scored eight.
NORTH FARMINGTON 48, STEVENSON 47
North Farmington edged Livonia Stevenson on Monday to advance in the D1 district tournament.
Heaven Rogers had 20 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Raiders in the win, while Sela Lefler had nine points and five assists.
North Farmington advances to face Farmington in Wednesday’s district semifinal at Novi High School.
BISHOP FOLEY 72, MICHIGAN COLLEGIATE 13
Madison Heights Bishop Foley cruised to a win in the Division 3 district semifinal on Monday, besting Michigan Collegiate 72-13.
Melanie Moore had 22 points to lead the Ventures, while Magda Berisha and Teresa Weis each scored 14 points.
Foley will face Royal Oak Shrine at Shrine on Wednesday for the district championship.
