Pediatric programs for Beaumont Children’s programs in Royal Oak and seven other cities will share in $1 million in grants from the Children’s Miracle Network.

The awards for this spring and summer season will cover a range of equipment and services, from hearing screening tools to infant CPR kits, Halo bassinets, a Giraffe Omnibed, teaching dolls, and art therapy equipment.

“For nearly 40 years, Chil

dren’s Miracle Network Hospitals has been a valued fundraising partner of the Beaumont Health Foundation,” said Margaret Cooney Casey, president, Beaumont Health Foundation in a statement. “In that time, CMN donations of more than $75 million have helped Beaumont Children’s pioneer new health care solutions for children and provide access to the latest research and technology.”

The grants support new or existing pediatric initiatives.

Beaumont doctors, pediatric nurses and clinical leaders at Beaumont Hospitals in Royal Oak, Dearborn, Farmington Hills, Troy, Grosse Pointe, Trenton, Taylor and Wayne can request the CMN grants twice a year, according to a Beaumont Health Foundation news release.

Grants are also available to healthcare providers at Beaumont’s outpatient sites.

The Beaumont Children’s/CMN partnership relies on community and corporate donations.

“In 2020, the generosity of CMN’s corporate partners extended beyond their fundraising programs to include meaningful donations of personal protective equipment, hot meals and snacks, iPads, tablets and other essential supplies to help Beaumont teams care for the community during the on-going pandemic,” a news release said.

Beaumont Children’s programs are part of Beaumont Health and include more than 80 pediatric subspecialists and over 400 pediatricians.

More than 16,000 babies are born at Beaumont hospitals annually.
