The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office is searching for one suspect after a shooting injured two in Pontiac on Sunday night. Two men, ages 24 and 25, both from Pontiac, went into the store on Irwin Street at about 10:30 p.m. Sunday.

“A witness stated she drove her two male friends to the party store,” the sheriff’s office reported. “The men walked into the store and when they came out, she heard multiple gunshots. She said the two men were able to get back inside of her vehicle and she drove them to the hospital.”

One man was shot three times, in his arm, chest and right side of pelvis. The other man was injured by broken glass from a shattered window. Neither the woman nor the two young children in the car were hurt, investigators said. Three vehicles were seen leaving the area, and two of them were stopped by deputies, a Chevy Malibu and a Yukon, with two suspects taken into custody. At the time of the felony traffic stops, made shortly after the call of shots fired came in, dispatchers notified deputies that a gunshot victim had been taken to St. Joseph Hospital.

“One of the suspects was lodged at the Oakland County Jail for attempt murder,” the sheriff’s office reported. “The second suspect was released, and a third suspect has not been identified. The incident remains under investigation. The victim who received multiple gunshot wounds is listed in stable condition.”

The man arrested is a 28 year old from Pontiac. The area of the shooting is located near South Boulevard and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
