• Gleaners Community Food Bank food distribution event is at the Oakland County Farmers Market, 9-11 a.m. April 5, while supplies last, for those in need. • Nonprofit Sparkle Network’s annual spring Prom Closet Tour offers a chance for high school juniors (Class of 2024) and seniors (Class of 2023) to receive a free prom dress. An appointment is required, those interested should send an email to sparkle.network3@gmail.com.
• Comerica Bank welcomes donations for its annual Prom Dress Drive, through April 21, in support of community partner Jackets for Jobs. • The Troy Women’s Association nonprofit will award $5,000 in educational scholarships to selected Troy women. Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to community service and be looking to further their education. This includes women looking for help with a technical or trade program education and those who have not been in school for a while, as well as graduating seniors.
