Shore power connections can be sketchy; sometimes dock wiring isn’t all it should be, and reverse polarity in particular can be dangerous for your boat and for your crew. Usually the first sign of this is when you’re already hooked up to the dock pedestal and switch on your circuit breaker at the onboard panel.
