Gratitude for the bounty prepared by someone else

With the COVID-19 pandemic raging on, Thanksgivi­ng will be very different — and smaller — this year. Keep the stress to aminimum — you’ve had enough this year already — and have someone else cook your Thanksgivi­ngmeal. Here are some options.

Dine-in

Biga on the Banks: 203 S. St. Mary’s St., reservatio­ns required, 210-225-0722, biga.com. Will offer a fourcourse meal, 11:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m. $67 adults, ages 12 and younger, $30. Appetizer choices include shrimp and crab Louie, duck liver mousse and grilled asparagus; second course is mixed greens and sweet potato with walnut vinaigrett­e. Main entree choices are herb-roasted organic turkey, slow-roasted rib-eye, Texas Gulf red snapper Veracruz or a grain bowl. Dessert choice of pumpkin or pecan pie, or dark chocolate mousse.

Bolos Restaurant: 9821 Colonnade Boulevard, 210699-5864, omnihotels.com. Will offer a prix fixemenu 11 a.m.-3 p.m., $49. Entree choices are crabcake Benedict, chicken and waffles, slow-roasted turkey and pan-roasted sirloin of beef. First and last courses consist of antipasti, salad and desserts.

Dorrego’s Restaurant:

Hotel Valencia Riverwalk, 150 E. Houston St., 210-2308454, dorregos.com. Will offer a brunch buffet 11 a.m.-3 p.m. $59 adult, $25 younger than 12. Will feature a variety of salads and vegetables, and seafood, omelets, pasta, pancake and waffle stations. A carving station will feature achiote-rubbed turkey with house-made sage stuffing; porchetta stuffed with house-made chorizo, figs and toasted pine nuts; and garlic-stubbed prime rib with horseradis­h cream sauce, candied garlic, chimichurr­i and salsa criolla. There also will be chicken and salmon.

Ostra at Mokara Hotel and Spa:

212W. Crockett St., 210-396-5817, omnihotels. com, will offer a prix fixe menu noon-9 p.m, $65 adults, $30 ages 6-12. It will include starter choices of butternut squash soup, chilled Gulf Coast oysters on the half-shell or autumn greens salad. Entree choices will include slow-roasted turkey breast, pan-seared Chilean sea bass, brown buttermush­room ravioli or beef tenderloin. Dessert will be bourbon caramel cheesecake or pumpkin pie.

Quarry Hofbrau y Más:

7310 Jones Maltsberge­r, 210-290-8066, quarryhofb­rau.com, will be serving a traditiona­l Thanksgivi­ngmeal, 11 a.m.midnight. Slices of turkey breast, gravy, mashed potatoes, stuffing, green beans, cranberry sauce and dinner roll for $14.99.

SweetFire Kitchen at La Cantera Resort & Spa:

16641 La Cantera Parkway, 210-558-2479, lacanterar­esort.com, will offer a dine-in family-style Thanksgivi­ng meal from10 a.m-10 p.m., $65 adults, $25 ages 6-12, free for 5 and under. It will feature herbbutter roast turkey, fried turkey, whole roasted pig, brown sugar-glazed ham and a vegan option of a no-beefWellin­gton. Those whomake reservatio­ns will receive a homemade pumpkin pie to take home.

Takeout

Aldaco’s Mexican Cuisine:

Will offer $109.99 heat-athome Thanksgivi­ng dinners feeding up to 10, with a 7- to 10-pound spiral-cut glazed ham, chipotle scalloped potatoes, green bean casserole, pumpkin tres leches cake and a gallon of iced tea. Pick up Thursday through Nov. 25.

Bakery Lorraine: Multiple locations, bakerylorr­aine. com. Will offer $26 pies: Dutch apple, pumpkin pie or Jack Daniel’s pecan . Pie ordersmust be placed by midnight Nov. 22. Pick up Nov. 25.

Bird Bakery: 5912 Broadway, 210-804-2473 birdbakery.com, 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Saturday, will offer $4 pumpkin-topped cupcakes, $4.25 pumpkin cookie name-place cards (must preorder) and a $50 cookie-decorating platter with various Thanksgivi­ngthemed cookie shapes, icings and sprinkles.

Features 18- to 20-pound turkey, gravy, cornbread dressing, mashed potatoes, green beans or green bean casserole, creamcorn or mac and cheese, cranberry sauce and rolls. A la carte items range from a $79 18to 20-pound whole smoked turkey, $13.99 per-pound sliced turkey breast, $12.99 per-pound sliced smoked ham and various sides, cobblers and pies. Turkeys come with large sides, cranberrie­s, rolls and choice of pie. Other meals feature turducken, ham, beef tenderloin, crown roast of pork and pork tenderloin with the above fixings. The County Line Bar-B-Q:

4334 Hyatt Place Drive, 210-641-1998 countyline. com. Will offer $100 whole smoked brisket, $55 whole slow-smoked large boneless turkey breast and smoked meats, including sausage, full racks of beef ribs and St. Louis-cut pork ribs. See website for desserts, sides and drink offerings.

Don Strange of Texas:

Will offer meal packages for delivery or pickup for $120-$250 with a choice of sliced ovenroaste­d turkey or hamand sides of cornbread dressing, mashed potatoes, candied sweet potato brulee, green beans, turkey giblet gravy, cranberry chutney and homemade dinner rolls. Pies: $20 pumpkin, $30 pecan, $25 apple. Order by 5 p.m. Friday. First 50 orders will receive breakfast breads and a bottle of prosecco.

Will offer family packages with starters of butternut squash soup and spinach and roasted pear salad, entree of roasted turkey. Dessert and a la carte options will be offered. Orders must be received by 5 p.m. Friday; curbside pick up Nov. 24-26.

Morton’s the Steakhouse:

Will offer a turkey dinner for $49 a person or a meal for four for $165 with oven-roasted turkey roulade with savory sage and cranberry stuffing, smoked gouda au gratin potatoes, bacon and onion mac and cheese, Brussels sprouts, winter salad with spiced walnuts and pumpkin cheesecake with sea salt caramel. Will also offer $159 Duckhorn Vineyards wine package.

Dine-in and takeout

Boiler House: 312 Pearl Parkway, Building 3, 210354-4644, boilerhous­esa. com. Will offer $52 per person dine-in and $145 heat-at-home family-style package options. Fourcourse dine-in menu features cheese and charcuteri­e starters followed by a classic Caesar or local lettuce salad. Entree choices are cider-brined turkey with sides or roasted prime rib with sides. Dessert choices of chocolate pecan or pumpkin cream cheese pies. Family-style to-go package, serves four, will include a 10-pound cider-brined turkey, giblet brown gravy, sausage and sourdough dressing with burnt sage butter, green bean casserole with blue oyster mushrooms and deep-fried shallots, molassesma­shed potatoes with baked Swiss meringue and spicy pecan, and choice of chocolate pecan or pumpkin cream cheese pies. Both will offer a special menu 11:30 a.m.-8 p.m. Starters include butternut squash pumpkin soup, flash-fried Brussels sprouts and baked oysters casino. Entrees will include turkey, Norwegian salmon, Parmesan-crusted fish, lamb chops and beef tenderloin.

Guests can order for takeout from the menu through Thanksgivi­ng Day, with orders placed in advance or same day.

Paesanos Lincoln Heights:

Basse Road, 210828-5191, paesanos.com, will have a dine-in, threecours­e prix fixe menu, $45, from11 a.m.-9 p.m. It includes a first course of butternut squash bisque or harvest salad, an entree of jalapeño pesto roasted turkey with gravy and dessert of cranberry pumpkin tart or pecan pie. Guests can order meals for takeout through Thanksgivi­ng Day, with pickup on Thanksgivi­ng.

Perry’s Steakhouse and Grille:

15900 La Cantera Parkway, 210-558-6161, perrysstea­khouse.com. Will offer a $45 prix fixe menu 11 a.m.-9 p.m. with choice of three sides, smoked turkey breast and pumpkin cheesecake dessert. A $139 family-stylemeal includes soup or salad, smoked turkey breast, mashed potatoes, pan gravy, green bean almondine, sausage dressing and cranberry relish.
