“Mank,” director David Fincher’s audacious drama about the making of “Citizen Kane,” aspires to reflect its inspiratio­n in scope and style. Gary Oldman stars as screenwrit­er Herman Mankiewicz.

Arrives Friday on Netflix after a short theatrical run.

2. Concert

Here’s a rare road show. Alabama band St. Paul and the Broken Bones is making a swing through Texas. They play music that evokes the soulful ’60s sound created by another Alabama band, the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section.

Pope Francis reflects on the COVID-19 crisis in his new book “Let Us Dream” (Simon & Schuster, $36), what it tells us about our lives and society, and where he thinks we must go from here. “In the trials of life,” he writes in the prologue, “you reveal your own heart: how solid it is, how merciful, how big or small.”

Jaston Williams, always a treat to catch on stage, returns with his holiday solo show “Blood and Holly: Christmas West of the Pecos.” The show is a series of monologues written and performed by Williams, perhaps best known as co-creator of “Greater Tuna” and its sequels.

5. Album

Primal blues-rock duo the White Stripes’ first official anthology, “Greatest Hits,” arrives a decade after the band released its last album — and just in time for stocking stuffing. The track list includes “Seven Nation Army,” “Icky Thump” and “Fell in Love With a Girl.”

The Tobin Center for the Performing Arts is holding its annual Holiday Art Market, featuring fine art and artisan products, as well as live entertainm­ent. It will be held outdoors, and COVID-19 safety measures will be in place, including requiremen­ts that patrons wear masks and observe social distancing.
