Pancake Haus now in Cibolo, too

-

The Magnolia Pancake Haus opened its new Cibolo location Dec. 19.

The Magnolia Pancake Haus, which opened its doors in 2000, has two San Antonio locations, at Embassy Oaks (606 Embassy Oaks) and in the Medical Center (10333 Huebner Road).

The popular restaurant’s menu includes its renowned pancakes, waffles, omelets and more.

In July, Express-News dining critic Mike Sutter weighed in on the restaurant, writing, “Even in the limited-capacity days of the pandemic, or maybe especially because of them, waiting for a table is a fact of life at Magnolia Pancake Haus. Here’s why: Buttermilk pancakes as big as the sun and almost as powerful and dense start at just $7.45.”

The Magnolia Pancake Haus; 17730 N. Interstate 35; 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. all week; (210) 496-0828; Facebook: Magnolia Pancake Haus Cibolo.

As of print time, an opening date had not been announced.

The menu at I Love Churros will include handcrafted cinnamon churros, gelato and specialty coffee made with beans roasted from different parts of Mexico. The spot also will serve porras, which are thicker and softer than churros, and a station stacked with toppings and fillings, such as ganache, condensed milk and Bavarian cream. Desserts will change daily.

I Love Churros will be operated by Moisés Hernández Trujillo, owner of Tiu Steppi’s Osteria; Adrian Fuentes, former executive chef at the Creek in

Boerne; and restaurateur Jetro Gutierrez.

The trio said they decided on churros because they wanted to offer something different to the community. Trujillo said they hope to expand their business by opening four to five other locations next year.
