Stone Oak gets a Sari-Sari market

- By Aarav Gedala

Sari-Sari has opened a second location on the North Side. SariSari Stone Oak opened Jan. 29 in the same shopping center as Frida Mexican Restaurant.

The new market carries products similar to the ones at the original location on Wurzbach Road, with some differences. For one, there’s not a full restaurant in the new spot. Though the market carries made-to-order halo-halo and steamed buns, Sari-Sari Stone Oak won’t turn into a restaurant any time soon.

The Wurzbach location was closed temporarily after a staff member tested positive for COVID-19. It reopened Feb. 5, and

during the location’s downtime, part of the dining room was renovated, essentially swapping spaces with the market and eventually expanding into the small green space with a patio.

Now I’m trapped in a cage we call home,

cold, barren, and empty.

Now I build my knowledge inside a fit mold

made just for me, and me only,

And now I lay here, painting words on a paper, solemn, quiet, free.
