HIGHLIGHTS

Ramiro Salazar passed for 349 yards and four touchdowns in Burbank’s District 13-5A-I opener, a 50-28 win over Kennedy.

Braeden Fuller connected with Preston Freeman on a 50-yard pass on the last play of the game as Floresvill­e edged Southwest Legacy 44-41. Fuller generated 337 yards of total offense and accounted for five touchdowns.

Xavier Tellez (148, three TDs) and Marion Torres (136, two TDs) combined to rush for 284 yards and five touchdowns to lead Lanier past Sam Houston 50-22.

Devine rushed for 570 yards in routing YMLA 63-14. Xavier Contreras ran for 151 yards on four carries with two TDs, including a 99-yard score, to lead the Warhorses.
