• D’Marrion Gonzalez ran for 243 yards on 19 carries and three touchdowns in Highlands’ 42-21 victory over Sam Houston Friday night.
• Rashawn Galloway passed for 340 yards and three touchdowns as Sub 5A No. 5 Boerne outlasted Pleasanton in overtime 38-31 Friday night.
• Justice Hurt rushed for 284 yards and three touchdowns in 6A No. 4 Taft’s 42-28 loss to 6A No. 1 Brennan on Thursday night.
• Xavier Tellez had a hand in all three of Lanier’s scores as the Voks toppled Sub 6A No. 7 Brackenridge 21-14 Thursday night. Tellez ran for 153 yards and two touchdowns and also threw a TD pass.
