It’s antiques season in Round Top

“Mad Men” hasn’t been on TV in several years, but its influence on our affection for midcentury décor and classic cocktails is still going strong.

Interest in furnishings and barware from the 1950s and ’60s continues, as dealers getting ready for the fall antiques shows have set up in tents and sites such as the Compound, the Arbors and other venues along Texas 237 as two of the biggest shows, the Original Round Top Antiques Fair and Marburger Farm Antique Shows, open Monday and Tuesday, respectively.

Tinkham, of Houston, sells her wares at shows such as Round Top, the Nutcracker Market and The Woodlands’ Junior League show and in Round Top will have a booth at the Compound, which at other times of the year is an entertainment venue. She sells sets of eight glasses for around $200 but also has other barware.
