From Comedy Central’s “Kroll Show” to “Oh, Hello” and the animated series “Big Mouth,” Nick Kroll has been one of the most consistently funny performers of the past decade. His current stand-up tour is called “Nick Kroll: Middle-Aged Boy.”

2. Theater
The Sterling Houston Festival continues with Jump-Start Performance Co.’s revival of “Le Griffon.” The play is an adaptation of Houston’s novella, which was inspired by “Frankenstein.” In Houston’s tale, a white doctor in 19th century New Orleans slowly constructs a man out of body parts of enslaved and free Black men. The production, directed by Steve Bailey, will include video shot for the play’s premiere in 2000.

3. Classical music
The Agarita chamber ensemble will perform the “Goldberg Variations,” blending J.S. Bach’s original manuscript with Dmitry Sitkovesky’s String Trio arrangement.

“Top Gun: Maverick” was delayed so long that its director, Joseph Kosinski, already has a new movie coming out. The sci-fi flick “Spiderhead,” based on a story by George Saunders, is about prisoners who are used as guinea pigs for experimental drugs. Chris Hemsworth and
Miles Teller star.

6. Concert
The Randy Rogers Band is gearing up for a new album, so fans should expect the hear some new songs, such as the recent single “Picture Frames,” when the Texas music stars return to the San Antonio area. Corey Kent opens.
