San Antonio Express-News (Sunday)
Our choices as Election Day draws near
In advance of Election Day on Tuesday, we are once again publishing the Editorial Board’s recommendation list. The Editorial Board is nonpartisan and independent from the newsroom. While reporters are objective, the Editorial Board members are opinion writers. Its members are Josh Brodesky, Nancy M. Preyor-Johnson, Cary Clack and Brandon Lingle. We report to Express-News Publisher Mark Medici. We met with and interviewed more than 100 candidates this cycle and also conducted our own background research.
First and foremost, we hope these recommendations are helpful for voters. We don’t expect readers to agree with each recommendation, but we do hope they can be clarifying to readers as they consider the merits of the candidates. We also hope these recommendations inspire — or remind — people to cast ballots.
We strongly encourage readers to conduct their own research on the candidates. Readers can find a voter guide on expressnews.com/opinion. The League of Women Voters of the San Antonio Area website is also a wonderful resource.
Your vote counts. Every vote counts.
