No. 7 TCU rallies past Tech, improves to 9-0
FORT WORTH — Derius Davis returned a punt 82 yards for a touchdown and Kendre Miller ran for the go-ahead score early in the fourth quarter as No. 7 TCU beat Texas Tech 34-24 on Saturday to reach 9-0 for the first time since 2010.
Davis caught one of Max Duggan’s two fourth-quarter TD passes for TCU.
The previous perfect run for TCU (6-0 in Big 12 this season) came in the Mountain West Conference and was before the College Football Playoff.
The nine-game winning streak is the longest since the Horned Frogs won 16 straight over the 2014-15 seasons.
The Red Raiders (4-5, 2-4) went ahead 17-13 in the third quarter on Tyler Shough’s 33-yard TD pass to J.J. Sparkman.
Duggan was 12 of 23 for 195 yards without an interception, giving him 24 TDs and two picks.

Miyan Williams ran for 111 yards and two touchdowns, and the No. 2 Buckeyes (9-0, 6-0 Big Ten) got all they could handle on a rainy and windy Saturday in Evanston, Ill.
C.J. Stroud, the Big Ten leader in yards passing, set a career low with 76. He completed just 10 of 26 passes in his only game this year without a touchdown throw but rushed for 79 yards.

Tyjae Spears ran for 157 yards and a touchdown and Shaadie Clayton-Johnson gained 106 as the visiting Green Wave (8-1, 5-0 American) dominated on the ground.

Friday in Seattle, Peyton Henry made a 22-yard field goal with 8 seconds left to cap a 92-yard scoring driving, and the Huskies (7-2, 4-2) held off the Beavers (6-3, 3-3) to preserve their hopes in the Pac-12 championship game race.

At Globe Life Field in Arlington, Brad Roberts gained 133 yards, and Camby Goff intercepted a pass with 19 seconds left as the Falcons (7-3) won their first Commander-inChief ’s trophy since 2016. Jemel Jones passed for 67 yards and rushed for 37 and a TD for the Black Knights (3-5), who shared the trophy with Air Force last season.
