Wolf Mountain Ranch offers Texas Hill Country hiking terrain

- By Gabriel Romero

The new year is finally here. While others are buying gym memberships and dieting, this home might be perfect for those who want to jump into the “New Year, New Me” mantra. With its vast space and Texas Hill Country terrain, one ranch could be a workout warrior’s dream home.

Wolf Creek Ranch, a former Boy Scouts of America scout ranch, in Llano County, four miles from Llano, is now for sale by agent Blake Ledyard with Texas Ranch Sales LLC.The price of the property is unlisted.

The 650-acre property features amazing natural rock and landscape terrain and panoramic Hill Country views from the ranch’s very own mountain. The northern part of the ranch has large granite outcroppings with boulders, rugged ridges, and vistas. The 1,300-foot Wolf Mountain, from which the ranch gets its name, is the main feature of the property. A road goes across the top of the mountain where people can check out the views.

For those that want to skip the hiking, there is an 18-acre private lake.

Since the property was a Boy Scouts of America scout ranch, it has gone under various architectural improvements that include old camp structures being turned into a rustic game room, a four-bedroom hunter’s cabin, and a galley kitchen, according to the listing. In addition to the 18acre lake, there are multiple ponds throughout the ranch. There is also an RV spot.

There are plenty of hunting blinds and feeders throughout Wolf Creek Ranch. In previous years, there have been multiple whitetail deer that have been scored above 200” class. There are more than just deer on the property for hunters to collect. Turkey, dove, and quail are also found on the property.
