Margaret E. Noriega

June 25, 1929 - February 3, 2024

-

Margaret Elizabeth Noriega (born McCulloch), beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, was peacefully welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven on February 3, 2024. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years, our dad, Richard Noriega Sr., and is survived by her three children: Richard (Ophelia), Lynda (Carl), and Rita; six grandchildren: Raquel, Jason, Aaron, Matthew, Chelsea, and Alaina; ten great grandchildren, and two great, great grandchildren. Our mom was a beautiful, loving soul who would sacrifice anything for her family, whom she cared for very deeply. Over the years, mom and dad enjoyed traveling and going to dances with their many friends. Mom worked at City Hall in the 50s and early 60s, and at the Convention

Center in the later 60s, during Hemisfair ‘68. She also worked part-time at USAA. In the 70s, she started her Civil Service career with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) located in the Federal Building downtown. She retired from the Civil Service in 1989 after her last grandchild was born, to help with childcare for her children who were still in the workforce. She also enjoyed consigning, and she and dad volunteered for a few years on base at the Lackland Thrift Shop. Mom loved cooking for the family on Sundays and she loved enjoying dad’s delicious coffee with him every morning before starting their busy days. She was the most loving mother and grandmother anyone could ever wish for. And she had the best, most contagious laugh! Oh, to hear that laugh again. A special thank you from the bottom of our hearts to the angels at Pipestone Place Assisted Living, for caring for and loving our mom in her last 3½ years; we are forever grateful. We miss our dear mom so much, but we take great comfort in knowing she is now in Heaven, reunited at last with the love of her life, who we know has been waiting patiently to take her in his arms again for their next slow dance.

Visitation will begin on Monday, February 12, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. with a funeral service to begin at 1:00 p.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South. Interment will follow at Mission Burial Park South.

For personal acknowledgement, you may sign the online guestbook at www.missionparks.com in the obituary section.
