Kleber Jennings Denny, P E. embarked peacefully on his last adventure on March 2, 2024. Kleber was born March 24, 1941, the third child of Judge Fisher T. and Alice Jennings Denny in Fort Worth, Texas. He graduated from Arlington Heights High School in

Ft. Worth and maintained lifelong friendships with his high school pals. He graduated from the University of Texas, Austin with a degree in civil engineering. He also earned a Master of Science in Environmental Health Engineering/water resources development and an MBA with a finance concentration. He was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity and the Texas Cowboys and cherished the friendships he a made. He was a former member of the Steeplechase in Ft. Worth and a long- time member of the Tejas Breakfast Club in Houston.

A Registered Engineer, Kleber co-founded Terra Associates in 1979 in Houston, a firm that provided a variety of engineering management and consulting services for commercial, residential, industrial, and recreational and real estate developments He developed municipal master plans for twenty-five special municipal utility districts for Harris, Fort Bend and Travis Counties. He had a long-standing interest in water resource management and was instrumental in developing a private natural spring into a successful business. He also won grants for his plans to desalinate the Brazos River.

In 1984 he married Mary Sullivan Denny in San Antonio and was lovingly referred to by her children and grandchildren as Papa Bear. He loved the great outdoors and introduced Mary to the thrills of whitewater rafting. Nothing made him happier than exploring National Parks with family and friends.

He was equally passionate about his hometown of Fort Worth, football in general but UT and the Baltimore Ravens in particular, and quail and dove hunting. Despite the fact that he accidentally shot himself in the foot while quail hunting, he never lost his enthusiasm for the sport. He was endearingly eccentric in his personal habits—the stories are legendary--but unfailingly kind, generous, and inclusive. His focus was always: “What can I do to help you?” A devout Presbyterian, he embodied the Christian values of humility and selflessness. No one had a bigger heart. He was truly one of a kind and will be sorely missed.

Kleber is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, his stepchildren Beth Sullivan Sierra (Silverio), Eileen Sullivan Sims, and Patrick Sullivan (Elizabeth); grandchildren Tristan and Spencer Sierra and Pierce, Samantha, and Margot Sullivan. He is also survived by his sister Ann Kinscherf and sister-in-law Gretchen Denny (George Bristol) of Fort Worth and niece Andrea Denny and nephew Alex Denny and numerous relatives.
