SUSIE LEE YANTA
Susie Lee Yanta, 102, passed away on September 13, 2018. She was born on April 20, 1916 in Karnes County (Ruckman Community) to George W. Sickenius and Mary Stoepler Sickenius. April 20, 1916 - September 13, 2018 She married Bennie A. Yanta on November 23, 1937. They were married for over fifty-four years until he passed away on July 27, 1991. Susie was a member of St. Cornelius Catholic Church, St. Cornelius Altar Society, Birthday Club, and loved to play Bunco. She also enjoyed her gambling trips. She loved taking care of her garden and planting beautiful flowers. Susie loved having family gatherings in her home.
She is survived by her children; Dorothy Lee Kuhnel (Fletcherdeceased), Mary Barbara Wilson (Bill-deceased), Helen Ruth Bellah (John), Patricia Ann Brett (Jody), Arthur Ray Yanta (Patsy), Don Roy Yanta (Kay). She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren; Sandy Cole, Debbie Heiner, Dennis Buehring, Reese Wayne Bellah, Clay Brett, Wade Brett, Katie Yanta, Sarah Yanta, Evie Swick, and Weston Yanta. 14 Great-grandchildren; Chelsea Mixon, Jacob Heiner, Kyle Heiner, Mikaela Heiner, Blair Buehring, Bryan Buehring, Travis Buehring, Laynie Bellah, Austin Bellah, Linley Brett, Paisley Brett, Rylan Brett, Ora Brett and Alton Lane. One great-great grand child, Kyson Mixon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bennie A. Yanta, Brothers; George W. Sickenius Jr. and Fred Sickenius. Sisters; Alma Dubose, Laurie Zimmerman, Nora Schulz, Maddie Woodall, and Viola Ckodre Wehman.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 21, 2018 at Rhodes Funeral Home in Karnes City, Texas. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 22, 2018 at St. Cornelius Catholic Church in Karnes City, Texas. Burial will follow at the Karnes City Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Dennis Buehring, Reese Wayne Bellah, Clay Brett, Wade Brett, Weston Yanta, Jacob Heiner, Kyle Heiner, Bryan Buehring, and Travis Buehring.
