MARGARET LOUISE ERNST

September 24, 1939 - September 18, 2018

Margaret Louise Ernst, 78, passed away peacefully at her home in Somerset Texas on September 18, 2018 with her loving husband by her side. Margaret was born in Poteet, Texas to Herbert and Virgie Johnson on September 24th 1939. Margaret graduated from Somerset High School in 1958 where she met her high school sweet heart and future husband, they married November 15, 1958. Margaret was a lifetime Somerset resident where she spent several years working in the banking industries and at Somerset ISD. She loved to cook, cross-stitch and had a passion for reading. Margaret was a fighter, diagnosed with cancer in 2002, but her love for life, family and coffee was stronger and she won that battle. Margaret was the heart of the Ernst family and though missed her life will continue through those she leaves behind. Margaret is survived by her husband of 59 years Fred Ernst; sister, Nellene (Orville) Jones; son, Jim Ernst; daughter, Luanne (George) Chura; 4 grandchildren, Kasey (Brex) Bradley, Travis Chura, Tayler and Devyn Ernst and two great-grandchildren, London and Beckham Bradley.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Nurses in Touch Community Hospice of Floresville Texas for their support in her final days with a special thank you to Jackie and Mary. Funeral services will be held at Somerset United Methodist Church with a viewing at 9:30 am followed by the service at 10:30 am on September 22, 2018.

Burial will follow at Bexar Cemetery with Hurley Funeral Home in Pleasanton, Texas handling the funeral services.
