Virus is still here
On Feb. 7, President Donald Trump admitted to Bob Woodward the novel coronavirus is more deadly than the flu and is transmitted through the air. He should have notified all citizens immediately, called in the health experts and devised a plan. Instead, he lied to the people and told them the virus would go away. One has to wonder how many lives could have been saved if he had acted earlier. to a senior commander. He responded that you never get used to it and never forget; his large unit had already sustained 31 deaths, including his son, to that point in the war. You never forget or laugh or smile the same way again — and, alive, you know you owe so much to others.
This is why I find President Donald Trump so reprehensible. He shows no grief or sense of concern about what is happening under his command. Trump, as president, has the duty to protect the people under his charge, and he has failed in that duty.
The officers acted legally and professionally doing their job of investigating a case of violent domestic abuse. Mathias Ometu was stopped because he matched the description of the suspect that fled on foot from the crime scene a few blocks away. The officers lawfully detained him in accordance of the Texas Penal Code and requested his identification in the course of investigating a crime.
I am amazed how the crime victim’s rights to a lawful and complete investigation no longer matter. This seems especially true when the crime is domestic abuse of a girl or woman. These groups are quick to place all the blame on the police. Never do these groups acknowledge how Ometu’s actions of resisting and noncompliance quickly escalated the encounter.
