Clemens update: Second-ranked Clemens plays its first game since blanking San Angelo Central 35-0 on Oct. 2 as quarterback Max Didomenico passed for 209 yards and two touchdowns. The Buffaloes rebounded after opening with a 53-7 loss to reigning state champion Austin Westlake.

The No. 3 Rockets rolled up 618 total yards in a 37-14 victory over New Braunfels last week. Quarterback Michael Burroughs rushed for 147 yards and two touchdowns and passed for 183 yards and a score. Running back De’anthony Lewis rushed for 173 yards and two touchdowns. Notable: Clemens leads the all-time series 18-11 and won last year’s matchup 34-30, thanks to a fourth-quarter touchdown run by Didomenico.

KEY STORYLINE

Harlan vs. Marshall, 7 p.m. today, Farris Stadium: Marshall is fresh off a stunning 36-33 victory over O’connor, the Rams’ first against the Panthers since 2010. The No. 9 Rams (2-0, 1-0 District

29-6A) haven’t had a winning season since 2006 and have made the playoffs once in the past 13 seasons. A victory will put Marshall, which is 15-60 since 2013, in a good spot for the playoffs.

Harlan (0-2, 0-1) managed just 196 yards and eight first downs in a 28-7 loss to Taft last week. A victory would be a muchneeded boost for a program competing in Class 6A for the first time.
